Egyptian Craft

The Ancient Egyptians were skilled in techniques and materials that are no longer widely practiced in the modern world. Stoneworking in particular used simple tools, such as flint and sand, and required many hours of labour. The Manchester Museum houses a number of important examples of Egyptian crafting, because of its extensive collection of material excavated from a pyramid-builders’ town called Kahun.
